国际化师资(暑期)培训班是中教国际教育交流中心研发实行“中国教师国际化培养方案”开展的系列项目之一。2019年7月21日至8月2日,中教国际教育交流中心邀请美国卡罗莱纳海岸大学选派培训专家来华在哈尔滨师范大学进行为期两周的教学法集中培训。内蒙古工业大学、河南大学、南京农业大学、哈尔滨体育学院、西安邮电大学和长江师范学院共有12位教师学员参与了此次培训。经过两周集训,教师双语教学能力有了极大提高,有效教学的创新思维也受到了启发,从而促进了中方院校国际化师资的培养。
Faculty training (summer) program is part of CCIEE International Faculty Development Initiative. During July-August, 2019, CCIEE invited two of the most outstanding professors of Coastal Carolina University for the training of 12 Chinese faculty members selected by Inner Mongolia University of Technology, Henan University, Nanjing Agricultural University, Harbin Sport University, Xi’an University of Posts & Telecommunications and Yangtze Normal University. After 2 weeks’ Methodology training at Harbin Normal University, the participants saw in themselves great improvement of teaching in the two languages Chinese and English and inspiration in their ways of critical thinking in effective teaching, which advances the international faculty development of the participating Chinese universities.

培训课堂轻松活跃,我们从课程设计、课堂评价、测试方法等多个专题探讨如何建设一门优质课程,如何让学生学有所获,更为重要的是外教们来到这里还原了美国课堂的原貌,让每一个学员兼顾老师和学生的双重身份去思考教学的本质。在讲授课程设计的板块,外教们带来很新的视角,我第一次听说从“大概念”出发为构建课程的框架。一开始虽然有点丈二和尚摸不着头脑,但是在进行案例分析讲解之后感觉到这是一种高屋建瓴的教学行为。有句话是这么说的“离开学校多年以后,书本上东西或许全忘了,如果还剩下什么,那就是你真正学到的。”所以老师授课重要的不是把书上的内容输送出去,而是要考虑什么东西是影响学生一生的。作为高等教育的老师,需要具备长远的眼光和透过现象看本质的素养,这样我们设计的课程才是经得起时间考验的。
在课堂评价的板块,外教向我们介绍了数十种课堂评价的小技巧和合作学习的技巧,例如“一分钟写作”、“鱼缸展示”、“思维导图”、“同侪互助”等等。这些小技巧能很好地调节课堂气氛,激发学生的学习积极性,也让老师获得及时反馈并落实形成性评价,及时调整教学步骤。虽然这些技巧不是放之四海而皆准,不同课程还需单独量体裁衣,但是外教们提供了很多技巧可供选择,也带给学员很多启示,一些技巧稍加修改就可以很好地实施。

For me, I am ambitious and goal-oriented, having a clear target for attending this course and taking it seriously. Therefore I learned lots of ideas and techniques from this well designed and implemented course. Among them, three big ideas are of the most importance, that my teaching should be technical, conceptual, and educational. In other words, my teaching should lay emphasis on instructional techniques (technical), big ideas or cognitive ability (conceptual). Further, I should aim to achieve the ultimate end of education (educational), training people with the higher levels of cognitive and affective development. Further, as Confucius said: I learn without satiety, and teach without being tired(学而不厌,诲人不倦). It’s never late to learn. Hard training, continuous improvement, should be my motto, the big idea of big ideas.
It is truly a worthwhile, rewarding, thrilling, and educative experience, full of grateful, enduring, fresh, and beautiful memories. And it is unforgettable, for I have been working on them for two weeks. It is rather a long time away from my family and routine work. It is a little difficult but worthwhile. The influence of this experience will be profound and lifetime, both my teaching and academic career benefit a lot from it.
