At the beginning of 2009, 10 selected universities from both sides participated in the Sino-American 1+2+1 Dual-Degree Program evaluation project by the authority of CCIEE and AASCU. This evaluation is not only a summary of 1+2+1 program, but also the first time to comprehensively valuate the 1+2+1program in the past 10 years.
During the 10th Anniversary on June 23, 2010, the evaluation report was delivered by Dr. Thomas DeStefano, Professor of Northern Arizona University. The report indicated that 1+2+1 program was the largest global consortium for educational exchange between Chinese and U.S. universities. Currently, there were nineteen U.S. universities eligible to receive students from eighty-two Chinese institutions. This evaluation project utilized a mixed methods design with quantitative and qualitative analyses. It was funded by the Center for International Education of Northern Arizona University, The TOEFL Board of the Educational Testing Service, The Chinese Center for International Educational Exchange, the American Association for State Colleges and Universities and the Shaanxi International Cooperation Research Fund.
